Plan B

August 14, 2011

When it rains, it falls, as they say.

With Faith away at Trout Lake Camp this week, the younger girls have been taking turns with a 5-day virus, while I interviewed and hired two new PCAs for the fall, met with Joy’s social worker and an elevator contractor, and worked on my paper for my presentation at the Pond House next Sunday afternoon. We also started house hunting, having determined that our Plan A, renovating this house, isn’t workable.

The surprise is that the first house we saw the first day out may be our next home. We’ve been catapulted from, “We may as well start looking,” to the nitty-gritty of blue-prints vs. elevator, lift (the garage floor is too far below the house for a ramp) and accessible-bathroom requirements, tallying numbers of doorways to be widened (each doorway costs $1,000), and figuring out if we can afford the purchase price plus the renovations.

So please excuse me if it is a little quiet over here for a while. God may be bringing several things to fruition this week!

Sending positive thoughts and lifting you and your family up in prayer, too.
